Woman from Indiana Dies in hot air balloon crash in Arizona on Sunday

ELOY, Ariz. (AP) — Following a sad hot air balloon accident in Eloy, Arizona on Sunday morning, authorities reported that four people had died and one was critically injured.

There was one person from Indiana who was killed.

Katie Bartrom, 28, has been named by her family as one of the people who perished in the event, according to ABC15.

Bartrom was an Indiana licensed nurse with a penchant for skydiving and adventure, according to Jennifer Hubartt.

The crash happened on Sunday around 7:50 a.m. in a desolate desert area about 60 miles south of Phoenix, according to the Eloy police.

To ascertain the reason of the terrible incident, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are presently conducting an investigation.
