Two men arrested after £1.25million drug confiscation in Larne harborATN News

Details of the arrest, a PSNI spokesman said: “A 41-year-old man was arrested in Belfast yesterday (Wednesday September 21) on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a controlled drug class A and C and an aged man. The 22-year-old has been arrested in Bradford on conspiracy to supply a Class A controlled drug. Both men are being investigated in a serious crime suite at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.”

Detective Inspector Conor Sweeney said of the operation: “We remain committed to combating the importation of such hazardous substances into Northern Ireland.

“These arrests are about 10 months after the first drug seizure. This shows that we will conduct every avenue of investigations practicable to identify and bring members of a criminal group to court.

“Criminals involved in the supply of drugs in Northern Ireland make money from the misery they have done to the most vulnerable members of our society and they must be stopped.

£1.25million drug man arrested in Larne

The first arrests came on Friday, December 17, when cocaine, ketamine and marijuana, which have a combined street value of around £1 million, were arrested by the Crime Task Force. This includes detectives from the Northern Ireland Criminal Police Department. Local Police and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) at Port Larne

At the time, a 60-year-old man was charged with possession of Category A and Category B drugs with the intention of procuring.
