A BJP office in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore has been attacked. A case of unknown persons throwing a bottle full of inflammable material at the BJP office here has come to light. After the incident, the angry BJP workers staged a massive demonstration after which the police reached the spot and took charge.
BJP workers are linking the attack with the raid against PFI a day earlier. Activist Nand Kumar said, “A petrol bomb was thrown at our office. So do terrorist attacks. Raids were conducted against PFI today. The national president of BJP is also in the state.
A total of 15 states were raided.
The NIA on Thursday raided PFIs at 93 locations in 15 states. Kerala-39, Tamil Nadu-16, Karnataka-12, Andhra Pradesh-7, Telangana-1, Uttar Pradesh-2, Rajasthan-4, Delhi-2, Assam-1, Madhya Pradesh-1, Maharashtra-4, Goa- 1, 1 in West Bengal, 1 in Bihar and 1 in Manipur were raided. According to sources, around 300 NIA officers were involved in the search operation. DG NIA supervised the operation. A total of 46 accused were convicted in PFI cases prior to 2010-11 and charge sheets have already been filed against 355 accused in anti-PFI cases.
