RTC commuters are facing various problems in AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s home district Kadapa. Due to non-payment of rent to the Municipal Corporation, the Kadapa Old Bus Stand was closed by the authorities. Due to this, the buses get stuck on the road and the passengers suffer. Buses were stopped from entering the bus stand since morning. Kadapra municipal officials said that they have replied several times to pay the dues to the municipality but to no avail.

As the bus stand was closed at 4 in the morning, the passengers faced a lot of difficulty on the road. Corporation Commissioner Praveen Kumar said that since 2013, the RTC authorities have not paid the dues of Rs.2 crore to the municipal corporation. He said notices were given to RTC officials but there was no response. He said that as the bus stand was closed in the morning, more buses could not be sent to the bus stand. Commuters are horrified that such a situation has happened in the Chief Minister’s and RTC state chairman’s own district. Kadapa old bus stand was built by the municipal authorities. Every month the RTC officials pay rent to the city corporation for parking the RTC buses there. But now this situation has arisen due to non-payment of rent for the past few years.
