Police arrested 14-year-old kid for murdering parents, attempted sister's murder

A 14-year-old kid was detained on Friday after reportedly murdering his parents and attempting to murder his younger sister at their Miramonte, California, home, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni stated that the kid, whose identity will not be disclosed owing to his age, faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with the deadly Dec. 27 incident.

According to the sheriff’s department, he was booked into Juvenile Hall.

As per investigators, the 14-year-old called 911 Wednesday evening to report that an intruder had broken into his family’s home, attacked his mother and father, and fled in a pickup truck.

Deputies located two deceased adults, named Lue Yang and Se Vang, both 37, and an 11-year-old child in severe condition inside the house.

The girl had sustained serious injuries, and it was unknown if she would survive the ambulance voyage. Deputies considered having her medevacked to the hospital, but weather conditions did not permit.

According to officials, she is still in the hospital as of Friday and is expected to live.

Zanoni stated that there were contradictions in the teen’s account of the break-in, and deputies determined he had invented the incident.

According to Zanoni, the kid allegedly used “multiple weapons” to attack his family members.

A fifth family member was present at the time, a 7-year-old younger brother of the suspect, who was unharmed and is now with other family members.

“The tragedy of this situation is of such a high magnitude,” Zanoni said at the press conference on Friday, urging parents to check in with their children and be conscious of their mental health.

Police had no past contact with the family or teenage boy at this residence, according to the sheriff’s department. The inquiry is currently ongoing, and interviews are being undertaken to learn more about the boy’s school behavior.

The suspected assault’ motivation is unknown at this time.
