Nawaz Sharif decided to appoint Lt. Gen. Appointing Asim Munir as the new army chief of Pakistan and this decision was taken after long consultations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other allies.

Speaking on his channel GTV on Monday evening, senior journalist Rauf Klasra broke the news that Nawaz Sharif has taken an important decision regarding the appointment of the new army chief.

According to Rauf Klasra, Nawaz Sharif decided in London that the next army chief of the Pakistan Army will be the most senior three-star general.

According to reports, the new army chief will be General Asim Munir, who is currently Pakistan’s most senior general after General Nadeem Raza and General Bajwa. There are also reports that another general is senior to him and will retire on December 18. Immediately after his retirement, a list will be sent to the Prime Minister from GHQ with the names of the five senior most generals of Pakistan.

It must be recalled that senior journalist Najam Sethi speaking to Naya Dur on Friday night made a surprising revelation that in the recent corps commanders meeting it was decided that instead of five, this time only the names of three senior generals will be sent.
