Gurugram, Oct 3 (PTI) Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has been admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of Medanta Hospital here and is being treated by a team of specialists. The hospital gave this information on Monday.
The hospital made the announcement a day after Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav (82) fell ill.
Sources said that Mulayam Singh Yadav has been undergoing treatment in the hospital since August 22 and was also admitted to the hospital in July.
“Mulayam Singh is currently admitted to the critical care unit of Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon and is being treated by a team of specialists,” the hospital said in a statement.
On Sunday, his son Akhilesh Yadav, daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav and brother Shivpal Singh Yadav reached the hospital. Sources said that some party workers also reached the hospital premises to inquire about his well-being and were advised not to come to the hospital.
SP wrote on his official Twitter handle on Sunday, ‘Respected leader is admitted in GICU, his condition is stable. I humbly request you not to come to the hospital. Information about Netaji’s health will be provided to you from time to time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke to Akhilesh Yadav and inquired about his father’s well-being. According to sources, Modi assured Akhilesh Yadav that he is ready to provide all possible support and assistance.
