According to the Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian military jets were activated on Monday following a bomb threat to an Iranian airliner, which turned out to be false.
The Indian Air Force said in a statement that it was given the option of landing at either Chandigarh or Jaipur, two airports in northern India. The IAF said it has dispatched fighter jets to follow the plane to a safe distance.
The report said the pilot did not intend to divert to any airport and was later ordered to ignore the threat.
Shortly thereafter, Tehran advised them to ignore the bomb scare, and as a result, the plane continued its journey to its final destination, the report said.
