Following a chase in Newburgh, one person was killed and another was taken into jail

After a report of a moving violation, there was a chase that resulted in the arrest of two people. Regretfully, officials have verified the untimely demise of one of the implicated individuals.

According to the Newburgh Police Department, they tried to pull over a car on French Island Trail at 8:23 a.m. on New Year’s Day. But the car wouldn’t stop, so there was a chase. The driver purposefully struck a cop head-on during the pursuit, and the passengers were seen hurling various objects out of the car. In Spencer County, close to Hatfield, the chase eventually came to a stop.

The police claim that they found positive tests for marijuana and methamphetamine in some of the items that were thrown out.

A man and a woman were brought to the Warrick County Security Center, according to the police. However, the man had a medical issue during the booking procedure, and at about 9:12 a.m., emergency medical services were called. The numerous agencies that tried to save his life were unable to save him. The cause of his death is still being looked into by the Indiana State Police.

The male’s name has not yet been released by the authorities.

The female suspect, Brittany Webb, is accused with several counts of possession as well as obstruction of justice. It’s important to note that Webb is also wanted for a felony in Tennessee.
