Bhutan: Police have registered an FIR against a BJP leader, his wife and son for allegedly wrongfully imprisoning a doctor.

According to the police, a woman doctor has alleged that BJP leader Manoj Masih, his wife Amita Masih and son Rishabh Masih barged into her house on September 17 and took her daughter at gunpoint.

Manoj Masih is a former member of the Uttar Pradesh Minorities Commission. He has denied the allegation.

Masih said that a woman came to his house by herself and he informed the police about it.

Superintendent of Police OP Singh said, “On September 17, Manoj Masih called the police to his house and handed over the girl to us. The girl is currently under our care as she has refused to return to her family and has been kept at a one-stop center for women and children at the district hospital.

“The woman will be produced before a magistrate to record her statement. The CCTV footage is being recovered and further investigation will be conducted once the statement is recorded,” the SP said.

The police have registered an FIR under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (intentional hurt) and 342 (false imprisonment).
