Nagpur : 504 cases of Chikungunya were found in the state during the seven months from January 1, 2022 to July 30, 2022. But the health department is relieved as no patient has died. Meanwhile, this number of patients is less compared to last three years.
Chikungunya is a disease caused by a specific virus. This causes fever, headache, joint pain, nausea, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue etc. After the fever subsides, joint pain persists for several days. Fatigue is also more, even if the patient recovers, he has to rest for a few days. Patients of this disease are found continuously in the state. 1 thousand 646 patients of this disease were found in Maharashtra in 2019. This number came down to 782 in 2020 when the Corona virus hit. \In 2021, 2 thousand 526 patients were reported due to the increase of this disease again. But between January 1, 2022 and July 30, 2022, the number of patients has decreased to 504 patients, social activist Abhay Kolarkar has brought forward in Right to Information. But this year it is still raining in many parts of the state. Therefore, as the number of mosquitoes is likely to increase everywhere, this disease is also predicted to increase.
